North Star Rodeo
The North Star Rodeo is a small, annual rodeo held on Howard Pitzen's ranch, north of Effie. It is held yearly, during the last weekend of July. It has been occurring for over 40 years, and cowboys from all over the Midwest come to participate and watch. The rodeo is also a large part of the area's culture: people look forward to it as soon as summer begins.
Not only is the rodeo a place to watch cowboys in action, it's also a good place to hold a vacation. Camping facilities are available on the ranch, and the town of Effie holds a Rodeo Parade and fireworks. Though the area is crowded, it also provides a good time for anyone interested in rodeos.
